Den Anfang lesen

Squire Trelawney, Dr. Livesey and the other gentlemen have asked me to write down the whole story of Treasure Island. I must only keep back where the island is, because there is still treasure there. So I take up my pen and go back to the time when my father kept the Admiral Benbow inn.

I remember the old seaman as if it were yesterday. He came slowly to the inn door, with his sea chest behind him in a small cart. He was a tall, strong, heavy man with a brown face. Across one cheek there was a long white scar from an old cut. Then he began to sing an old sea song that he often sang afterwards.

"Fifteen men on the dead man's chest, yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!"

He knocked on the door with a stick and asked my father for a glass of rum.
